"I installed VMware a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly for a few
days. Now, it starts up ok and opens a VM - but when i try and start the VM
the system freezes up.

As i said, for several days it worked ok. Then i did a yum (automatic)
update of about a dozen packages, which i thought may have been related. But
looking through the list of packages, i can't find anything that looks
obvious - apart from cairo. I rolled that update back but the problem still
occurred."
