    Microsoft's strengths have been in lock-in, proprietary formats,
    destroying the competition through any possible means; they have never
    been all that strong in development, in fact, pretty much everything of
    worth has been bought-in.

    which was developed in-house and MS Word which was developed in-house and
    MS Excel which was developed in-house.

    So other than the most successul and profitable products they have,
    "everything of worth has been brought-in."
