Thread: PASV mode in pure-ftp

  1. PASV mode in pure-ftp

I have pure-ftp configured to use PASV ports 33300:33399. When I connect to
the ftp server I'm being pointed to ports outside of this range.

    eg:
    Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (77,111,44,222,165,31)

    ....which is port 28046

    eg:
    Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (77,111,44,222,18,246)

    ....which is port 4854

Can anyone suggest where to start looking for issues?

This is the command used to start the pure-ftpd daemon:
    pure-ftpd -c12 -B -C3 -z -D -E -fftp -H -I15 -lpuredb:/etc/pure-ftpd/pureftpd.pdb
    -lpam -L2000:8 -m4 -S222 -U177:077 -u40 -x -i -Ostats:/var/log/pureftpd.log
    -j -k99 -Z -0 -p 33300:33399

Not sure what the difference was, but I reordered the switches and it's
    working now.
