His feelings are hurt because Microsoft ****ed up with Excel 2007.

So he has to find ****ups in small open-source projects in order to
    compensate.

For your upcoming 50th birthday, you can treat yourself to an Intel Core 2
Duo - maybe GQView will only max out one core when you view an image...

I could say I was sorry about proving a ****wit like you wrong again,
    but why lie about it.

    1.7GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, GQView, 2272x1704 11.1meg jpeg with 9%
    compression...

    Cpu0 : 0.2%us, 0.0%sy, 0.0%ni, 99.7%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%
    Cpu1 : 0.3%us, 0.0%sy, 0.3%ni, 98.7%id, 0.7%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%
    Mem: 1026068k total, 1003104k used, 22964k free, 111968k buffers
    Swap: 3004112k total, 11316k used, 2992796k free, 414668k cached

Actually, CPU usage spikes at around 3% to 7% when loading a new image,
but it drops too fast to really be noticed.

Ski season hasn't started yet so the load is pretty low. Only just over
0.8 requests per second on the site.

    DFS = damn fine sartorial

(actually business casual, laundered button-down shirt *every day*, no tie,
loafers usually, dash of Lagerfeld Photo)

    What version of GQView?

Tell it to the fine folks at http://www.pcbypaul.com/absolute They had a
    different experience with that slop.

I add the tie, at management request. Normally, I would ignore such
piffle (and did, for a long time), but I just don't care anymore about
    being obstreperous.

Plus the thought of a Linux maniac wearing a tie is amusing.

Ties are OK, but a suit is overdoing it. Thankfully, most American
    businesses are now casual dress.

The thought of a Linux maniac wearing clean clothes, a shirt with a collar,
and shoes that don't lace up is funny, too. Does such a man exist?

    Oh yeah!

We also have a Linux geek who can arm-curl a full water-cooler bottle, too.
I can't do that, don't work out enough. But I can haul my ass fast up
    and down a soccer field.

That reminds me. I saw on Fox Soccer that the Seattle Sounders thrashed
the Atlanta Silverbacks in the USL Div 1 finals, 4-nil.

It was at the Seattle field, I saw a big Windows logo behind the goal.
