You mean apart from Alan Cox, one of the core Linux developers.

If you don't wish to be treated like a troll, it's best not to behave like
    one.

Personally, I am more than a little tired of reading bigoted lying
nonsense of this kind about Linux developers.

Oh, alan's work doesn't need a distro, it impacts on every single distro out

But as you asked for a british distro...
    Ubuntu.

South African. Mark Shuttleworth holds dual citizenship, but he was
born in South Africa, and Ubuntu advertises itself as a South African
distribution. The name itself is African.

I wasn't trying to put down the UK, I was just pointing out how silly
your statement about "American craftsmanship" was as it applied to
Linux. To pin some problems on something developed by many people all
over the globe on a single country is asinine. It wasn't poor American
workmanship that caused SuSE to slip, it was poor workmanship by many
people, some who are Americans. And really, I don't see the lack of
quality in SuSE, that seems more like a personal problem with you.

What is scary in that the three posts I have seen from you today all
relate to your sexual orientation. Nobody cares or wants to know. Please
refrain from discussing your "preferences" here - it is a Linux Advocacy
group not an alternate lifestyle discussion group.

You were also abusive to people who hold their religions dearly. Not all
Christians hate homosexuals despite what it says in the bible about
being an abhorrent practice. People are smarter and more understanding
now and are willing to turn a blind eye.

If only you could be more open minded about their choice of religion
then this would be a better world. It seems that one rule for you and
another for others is your modus operandi. Possibly you should report
yourself to your ISP for condemning a religious group of people who have
done no harm to you whatsoever?

Irrelevant. He's (part) british, he's based in the UK.
    Therefore, it's british.
If he'd formed the distro and marketed it in south africa it would be
southafrican, but canonical is IOM, not Cape Town.

When it was applied to ONE linux distro, it seemed perfectly relevant.

Face it, the germans have an attention to detail the yanks appear to lack.
SuSE before novell was a feckin excellent distro. Now it's just humdrum.

Where he's based is not important. He calls himself a South African
    Entrepreneur.

Canonical has offices all over the world. Ubuntu is billing *itself*
as South African. I'll take their word for it over yours.

Have you used it lately? It's just as good as it's always been. Be a

Havering is a regional district, but also refers to Haggis hunting?

    Personally, I rather like haggis.

I get the impression that Ubuntu bills itself as a distro of the whole
world rather than of one particular nation. The "Linux for humans"
stuff - Ubuntu is for people in general, and /of/ people in general.
