Well "dumbed down perspective" is true but it doesn't convey the whole
mindset that put marketing and strangling competition ahead of
everything else. Hence the security swiss cheese that is Windows.

Did you miss the blatant LIE about "when you install"?

And how many millions of windows boxes don't even HAVE a password?

Worse than that. 99% of all consumer windows boxes have no administrator
account. To break into a windows box: hit reset, hit F8 upon startup and
go to safe mode. Go into the administrator account and create a new
    administrator user.

A while ago, Dumfsck actually wrote that he "assumed" that a liveCD's
root password of "root" was kept during the install to harddrive -
possibly the most ridiculous thing that I've read in my years on
    usenet.

Obviously, he is known for repeating the same lies over and over.

What is amazing is that he'll whine about the root password being insecure
on a CD distribution, but has no problem with the vast majority of windows
instalations having no password at all set on the administrator account.

I love the look of disbelief on the owner's face when I add accounts to a windows box
and the owner thought he had passwords set on all the accounts. What
genius thought it a good idea to hide the administrator account?

He *did*? What a bloody idiot he is.

Nothing better to do, I suppose.

No. I thought it was just a loose way of saying "booting up with the
    CD".

What for? Isn't it obvious enough?

Telling him he's dumb, besides being pointless in and of itself, would
normally require an explanation of *why* he's dumb in this particular
incident. Next time he says something stupid, he'd avoid the exact same
    pitfall.

I'd rather leave him ignorant so he will either pull the same
boneheaded boner again, or try pulling another one just like it. That
way he can give himself away as a retard without anybody having to
    bother pointing it out.
