Why did you think that? Show us ONE time any of us have said anything like
    that bit of silliness.

Show us ONE time any of us have made the nutjob claims that Windows is
"perfect for..." or that Windows cannot be improved upon (as Greg 'Drunk
Bozo' Shearman insisted over and over and over about Linux).

C'mon pal - back up your accusations.

    > I thought that anything that Ballmer and Allchin touched turned to gold.

Why did you think that? Because MS sells $50 billion of software every
year, and many of their products are the best of their kind, and they hold
dominant market share positions in desktop operating systems and office
software, and Ballmer is one of the richest men in the world, and about 75%
of cola threads turn into MS discussions, and you use Windows to make a
living, and your family thinks you're weird when you rant against MS?

    > See, this is what gets me about all of the Windows fan boi's and the

No matter how botched Vista is, it will NEVER be as botched as the
amateurish Linux/OSS "operating system". So Vista isn't a perfect program -
    WTF did you expect?

If you used it with an open mind, you would see how nice it is, and how
    amateurish it makes Linux look.

    > No matter how many hundreds of millions of dollars that
    > Microsoft flushed down the toilet developing Vista

This thinking is why you're you (shrill freeloading Linux wack) and they're
    MS (extremely successful and dominant).

    > and how many more
    > hundreds of millions of dollars thay spent advertising and how much
    > arm wringing they applied to distributors to stock Vista is

    > they'll trash Linux instead.

Silly. All cola idiots fall back on "forced Windows on everyone" and
"illegal monopoly" and "channel stuffing" etc. But the minute a MS product
sells out, the whiners start bleating that MS is witholding inventory to
create artificial demand. The minute you ask them why MS SQL Server isn't
the dominant database "forced on business the way Windows was forced on the
world" they ignore you and run to their basements and draw pics of Bill
    Gates with horns.

MS can't win with Linux lusers.

    > Sure, Linux has flaws, but at least Linux doesn't have the advertising
    > or PR firms to hide and bury the flaws while attacking other OSes

Why doesn't Linux have advertising or PR firms? Oh, that's because Linux
    lusers are cheap-asses.

As for attacking other OS's, Linux nutcases are far, far, far more guilty of
that than MS - with all its billions - could ever be. You spiteful jerkwads
can barely spit out a sentence without making a stupid anti-MS comment.

Don't bother. Vista and MS Office will have sold out right away. You might
find some Linux distros for $1.99 - they don't sell at any price.

Gregory is certainly not stupid. His family are so clever that he thinks
his Granny should be able to "telnet" in to his mail server and issue
nntp commands. It really *is* that simple apparently.

    *boggle*

Why? Did Shearman not make comments to that effect? Considering he insists
"Linux is as good as possible" I strongly suspect he did make such bizarro
    claims.

Greg 'Drunk Ignorant Bozo' Shearman: "Humans process information as this
    sentence rapidly."
Next sentence: "Errors are only a result of ignorance."

    heh!

And there it is: Shearman really does expect Linux/Usenet noobs to read and
    understand the nntp protocol.

Unbelievable. And so totally out of touch with what people want.

I just read the stuff you linked to, and what's there is Gregory
Shearman saying that nntp is a plain-text, easy to understand
protocol. He argues pretty clumsily. But he is /not/ suggesting that
everyone who wants to use usenet shout interrogate news servers
directly. He was pointing out that nntp isn't arcane - that, if you /
wanted/ to, you could easily learn it.

But you pretend that he says everyone /should/ learn nntp. The usual
dishonesty. You produce the links, but you hope that no one will
actually follow them. Because when the linked comments are read in
their entirety, they show that you're full of it.
