Making Desktop Icon Stick in Place - KDE

This is a discussion on Making Desktop Icon Stick in Place - KDE ; I have one icon -- the CD/RW which wanders around the desktop depending upon if the CD is mounted or not. I thought that making an icon sticky in properties meant that it stays were you put it? TIA Dave ...

  1. Making Desktop Icon Stick in Place


    I have one icon -- the CD/RW which wanders around the desktop depending upon
    if the CD is mounted or not. I thought that making an icon sticky in
    properties meant that it stays were you put it?

    Icons are supposed to stay in place, specially if you have the "Lock in Place"
    option selected (right click on the desktop and go into the "Icon" submenu),
    but there seems to be a bug that affects this a bit on random, see the kde
    bugzilla.

    There was a bug which caused icons to wander around after repeated logons.
    HTTP is down over here at the moment, so I can't give you a link to the
    corresponding KDE bug report. Otherwise, I /would/ have.

    Thanks, Mr. Aho. As it turns out, HTTP was unavailable for 12 hours. Much of
    the north-west of England, as well as parts of Wales, were affected.

    Keep on KDE'ing!
