Knode and crazy dates

Every so often knode starts showing article dates as being FAR in the past.
For example, for an article containing

Date: Wed, 07 Nov 2007 16:42:10 +1100

it shows

1958-10-11 7:37 PM

in the window of newsgroup articles by subject/sender/date.

Just as suddenly as it starts doing this, it will revert to correct
behavior for a while. I do start and stop knode for each session, but I
reboot the machine every 20-30 days or so and don't restart X or kde
until I reboot.

Any ideas?
