I have Gentoo and i don't have the same problem with LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I am =
using KDE 3.4 with Qt =

3.3.4. So it's possible that is Suse's problem.

In my Gentoo:
$ export | grep library -i
declare -x LD_LIBRARY_PATH=3D"/usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.4"
