Use Ops Nav to copy print
I have a client who wishes to archive a number of AS/400 prints. When using
Print to File with the HP PDF, control characters are generated at the start
of the file and at subsequent page breaks. If the text file is created by
dragging the spool entry from Operations Navigator on to the desktop, the
file appears to be clean, but does anyone know if the process can be
automated please?
Many thanks

Re: Use Ops Nav to copy print
Go look at auto doc hse at www.iddata.nl
This is a very neat program that you can run on a pc and serve all
users or do it on an individual pc. It will create your pdf's simply
by going and running them to like a tn5250 printer to which you have
auto doc as the "print driver".
I have couplel as/400's that run in a building that we used to print
reports that now we go and archive all the stuff as pdf's. You can fix
it so that different users go to different folders, if you like. It is
a very neat piece of software. It becomes totally transparent,
requiring no operator intervention, etc.
Not only can you make pdf's, you can email a report or print it etc.
great software, reasonably priced.
