There is a system value turned on called QAUTOCFG. The values are
probably being determined by the OS and the value being turned on. If
your using Client Access or some other 5250 emulator then you can
control device type etc this way.

That is the device ID if one is not provided
by you. You have the option of giving one
during the workstation creation.
