IFS files in a particular ASP - IBM AS400

This is a discussion on IFS files in a particular ASP - IBM AS400 ; Is it possible to create a specific ASP in order to store a particular folder-s (on IFS) and it's files and subfolders as is it possible to do with CRTLIB ? Thanks in advance...

    Is it possible to create a specific ASP in order to store a particular
    folder-s (on IFS) and it's files and subfolders as is it possible to do with
    CRTLIB ?

    Not exactly the same way. You should create a userdefined file-system
    with the CRTUDFS command depending on which asp you select the
    directories of that UDFS will be in that asp. This way it's possible to
    use both user-asp and independent-asp.
    For example giving an existant user-asp 2, che command
    CRTUDFS UDFS('/dev/qasp02/Myfs.udfs')
    will do that.
    Then you can create links in regular folders to the newly created udfs.

    If you have large volumes of this data, or an alternate set of disks
    you wish them to reside upon you should also consider iASPs (as well
    as secondary ASPs) as these could be much flexibility.
