Thread: HPUX Patch question

  1. HPUX Patch question

I am wondering if superseded patches are listed even when they are not
    installed...

    Scenerio:

I have a component that is vulnerable to exploit. There have been two
patches released for it: PHCO_12345 and then, a year later PHCO_22345

I've just installed patch PHCO_22345 and I run:

    swlist -l fileset -a revision -x show_superseded_patches=True

***** Will PHCO_12345 be shown in the output? *****

If you haven't installed "PHCO_12345", then swlist will
    not display "PHCO_12345" with show_superseded_patches
    set to true OR false.

But if one needs, he can still extract the full patch
history from the latest patch using
    "swlist -a supersedes PHCO_22345"

    --vishwas.
