    Hello:

I had installed the trial version of Snagit 8.2. on my system. Now I
    don't want it.

I tried to uninstall it but it seems to leave a few references around.
Does anyone know all the references it leaves hanging around on the PC
(ie registers, logs, install files, etc...)

I wish that companies would do a complete uninstall when requested.

    Olav.

    Hi Olav,
You might want to pick up a copy (free) of CCleaner (Also known as 'Crud Cleaner') from http://www.ccleaner.com/
It can scan the Windows registry and clean up the bits of cruft that uninstall programs leave behind. It also scans the hard disk for files that can be deleted. Well worth a look.

    Olav,

This is one of the major benefits of virtulization.

Create a virtual PC on your PC and instal trial version stuff there.
If you don't like it, no problem, just remove the new version and go back to the old.

The only way I know to really get rid of old software is possibly a restore point from before the
    installation.

However, I do like CCleaner and it is free.

Sometime you just need to reinstall XP.

    Hi Olav
We use Snag-It here... wonderful utility ... great for doing user
    manuals and writing up investigations...

We don't seem to have troubles with it leaving too much around... did
you use it's uninstall program? (wondering as I use it at home too)

    Thanks,
    Art
