i have been happily booting linux-2.2.25 and windows xp on my toshiba
satellite laptop, for the last three months.

i recently did a clean install of slackware 9.1 and ever since have been
unable to boot without the cd or a floppy.
i had not changed anything from the install packages and when simply typed
lilo at the root i get the following message:

part_nowrite: read:: Input/output error

can anyhone offer advice? thank you
