Has this happened before? The Zire looks like a pretty good PDA, but if
this is going to happen again, I'm going to recommend a different kind of
unit for its owner.

The Zire totally reset itself when it was hooked up to the USB power cable
(and the data-cable was not connected to the unit).

How does this happen?
