Thread: Eclipse crashes when browsing the file system.

  1. Eclipse crashes when browsing the file system.

Using FreeBSD 6.1 I'm getting the below error message in Eclipse
almost everytime I browse the file system in order to perform: "add
    external Jars..."

    JVM terminated. Exit code=1 /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/bin/java -Xms40m -
Xmx256m -jar /usr/local/eclipse/startup.jar -os freebsd -ws gtk -arch
    x86 -launcher /usr/local/eclipse/eclipse -name Eclipse -showsplash 600
    -exitdata 5e0006 -vm /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/bin/java

and then Kaput, crash, boink. Very frustrating. This behavior occurs
with both Eclipse 3.1 and 3.3.1.

    Java information:
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0-p4-
    root_11_may_2007_08_20)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0-p4-root_11_may_2007_08_20,
    mixed mode)

    Any help would be great.

  2. Re: Eclipse crashes when browsing the file system.

Fixed. I moved the development environment to a Windows system. It's
sad to say but it now works like a charm.
