I am currently in the process of Hardening and Tweaking a Windows 2000
Server to host a Checkpoint NG Firewall and wanted to gather information
regarding people who may have followed the performance tuning guide from
Checkpoint:

http://www.checkpoint.com/techsuppor....html#os_tcpip

The guide provides tweaks for NIC Parameters however the version of NIC card
(3C905C-TX), does not have a section to allow tweaking for the following
parameters:

Receive Buffers
Coalesce Buffers
Transmit Descriptors
Receive Descriptors
Transmit Control Blocks

Does anyone have any experience adjusting the above settings and assessing a
performance gain as a result?

Thanks,
Dave
