  1. ip440 ipso upgrade not using voyager

I am trying to install ipso 3.8 on an ip440 without the use of
voyager. For some reason voyager is not working for me. I cannot even
access the box with an ip address. I had a similar problem once with
an ip330 and all I did was upgrade the ipso by installing it via ftp.
I would like to install it using ftp via: bootmgr> install (similar to
    the ip330 method).
Furthermore, I am unable to access the bootmgr on the ip440, it takes
me straight into boot. Does anyone know any way that I can install
ipso.tgz on the ip440 without using voyager?

I hope you've read the IPSO documentation (available on Nokia's support
website. For sake of professionalism I'd also recommend you read those
release notes before you do any upgrades.

I think only the IP330 uses a boot manager.

Does your IP440 already have IPSO running? Could you SSH into it?
If SSH is working, then the "newimage" command should do the trick.
Just make sure you use the -k and -R options.

Of course, the newimage command and its options are explained in the
    IPSO release notes. :-)

    Good luck!

Nokia IP440 needs a bootdisk to get into the bootmanager. You can
download a bootdisk image at Nokia's support site if you have a support
contract. Bootet from this disk you will be able to install an IPSO
image from FTP or CDROM (IP440 has a drive) similar to the way you do it
    on a IP130, IP330, IP530,...

Be sure to read the Release Notes _before_ installing the new IPSO image.

    Cheers,
    Thomas
