I re-read the grasshopper book and I see that I mis-interpreted what
it has to say on views.

The thing of it is, my configuration seemed to work the way I thought
it should work until recently. Now I'm finding that I'm getting
unpredictable results from a host that uses the internal view, if a
zone is in the external view but not in the internal view. Some of
those zones won't return anything, others will return the information
I expect from the external view, and in one case, I have a zone that
returns an internal IP address, even though there is no record that
matches. If the server had consistently not returned anything in each
of these cases, then I would have figured it out.
Very insidious problem I ran into. Thanks for the help.
