The Information Day on eHealth Research and Development - Greece
The Information Day on eHealth Research and Development will be
organised by the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute (RA-
CTI) in its facilities in the University Campus of the city of Patras,
Greece the 4th of May 2007.

Gathering top level experts and executives from Research Institutions,
Industry and practitioners in the field of eHealth, from Greece and SE
Europe, it is bound to be the prime event on eHealth related issues in
this area.

TABD Innovation Conference Healthcare

Agfa HealthCare and the Free University of Brussels sign long-term
research agreement
AGFAAgfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT enabled clinical

Ziekenhuis Brussel hospital, linked to the Vrije Universiteit Brussel

signed a long term agreement to advance current research surrounding

Conference on academia-industry cooperation
Germany Presidency of the EUA conference entitled "European
Researchers of Tomorrow - Crossing the Borders of Academia and
Industry" will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, from 13 to 15 May 2007.

The aim of the conference is to highlight the importance of the
promotion of young researchers for Europe and to effectively document
and increase Europe's attractiveness for scientific talent. The focus
will be on cooperation between science and industry.

Robot with a foot prosthesis
Running shoes, ski bindings and foot prostheses all have one thing in
common: They must be tested thoroughly. This is now done by a robot-
based 3-D test rig which simulates human movements, thus enabling any
kind of load test to be carried out under realistic conditions.

European research helps people with dementia to navigate their day
As approximately 1.9 million elderly people in Europe experience a
form of dementia. A pan-European research project is seeking to help
them 'navigate their day' and improve their quality of life.

The recently launched CogKnow project, funded under the EU's Sixth
Framework Programme (FP6), aims to help people to remember, maintain
social contact, perform daily life activities and enhance their
feelings of safety.

This concept of tele-echography, validated by the LVR (Robotics &
Vision Laboratory) of Bourges, on an original idea of Professor
Arbeille and carried out first by the European Spatial Agency and the
CNES, has been industrialized by ROBOSOFT, who, thanks to its
experience in service robotics, succeeded in developing and producing
off the shelf robots.

The high-level eHealth Conference 2007 is going to take place from 17
to 19 April 2007 at Messe Berlin. It is a joint project of the
European Commission, the German Federal Ministry of Health, the
regional government Berlin and the Association for Social Security
Policy and Research.

Agfa HealthCare launches ORBIS(TM) in the United Kingdom
AGFAAgfa HealthCare announces that it is launching ORBIS(TM) in the
United Kingdom. Displayed for the first time in the UK, at the
Healthcare Computing 2007 in Harrogate, ORBIS has been designed to
provide hospitals and healthcare facilities with an Electronic Patient
Record (EPR) solution, which includes scheduling activity management
and communication software.

eHealth priorities and strategies in European countries
eHealth priorities and strategies in European countriesThe European
Commission, Directorate General Information Society and Media,
supports the eHealth ERA Coordination Action project to contribute to
the coordination of Member States' eHealth strategy formulation and
implementation as well as eHealth-related research and technology
development. The project surveys and analyses eHealth roadmaps and
programmes across Europe, identifies common priority issues, and
develops suggestions for joint actions.
