    hi!

I need some help on that topic!

Can an 8bit image have a window width of more than 255? Or is wl/ww
    independent of image depth?

    Thanks

Yes! For example, if you have a "rescale slope" of 5 and a "rescale
intercept" of 0, you obtain values from 0 to 1275. In this example you
can use a wl of 637.5 and a ww of 1275 to show all grey values.
I hope this is clear (and right ).
