    Hi,
I and other members of debian-l10n-italian are working on Italian
    updates.

    what is the "reasonable timeframe"?

    Other questions:

We don't have write-access on svn; who can does the commits for us?

From the header of a po:
    >>># FIRST AUTHOR , YEAR.

Many strings are traslated for other person, but in the po there isn't
their names. Where are available the names of old italian traslators?

    >>>"Project-Id-Version: PACKAGE VERSION\n"

is there a value for this header?

Hrm, say, 2 months, _after_ I've sent a request of translation updates
to the zh_CN and it translators.

Some .po expert can answer these questions. There's a lot of
information about .po on the www too, btw.

    Thanks! Ciao,

    Yes, from today :-(
But I think that it is a fast work, untraslated string are little, the
big work is only a revision of fuzzy entries.

    No, we work on
    svn://svn.debian.org/svn/ddp/manuals/branches/debian-faq/dbk-po4a-utf8/it
    Is it OK?

Yes, it's OK, but I believe it's better to wait untill the manual
merging has been done. See W. Martin Borgert's Mon, 22 Sep 2008

You didn't answer (or I did not get the answer), whether the
small change in software.sgml was the only relevant change to
the FAQ since 2008-05-19. If so, I can fix this today and we
    can start pestering translators :~)

    A yes, just checked.

Indeed, this minor commit on software.sgml:

    r5380 | joostvb | 2008-09-22 07:55:32 +0200 (ma, 22 sep 2008) | 2 lines
    Changed paths:
    M /manuals/trunk/debian-faq/debian/changelog
    M /manuals/trunk/debian-faq/software.sgml
update information on djb-ware (qmail etc.) shipped with Debian.

is the only one relevant for translators.

    > If so, I can fix this today

    That'd be great!

    OK, I'll await your mere.

Feel free to correct my pseudo-English in SVN :~)

(Btw: I would like to make use of the DocBook elements
qanda*/question/answer for the FAQ, but we can do that later,
