  1. Bug#489470: linux-image-2.6.25-2-amd64: pciehp stops working in 2.5.25, worked in 2.6.24

    Package: linux-image-2.6.25-2-amd64
    Version: 2.6.25-6
    Severity: normal

pciehp stopped working after upgrading to 2.6.25.

(note that the nvidia kernel module was only loaded _after_ the problem
occured so the kernel was not tainted)

to my knowledge, the bc4328 device was never pci-hotplugged before, so it
is unclear what 0c:00.0 has to do with pciehp.

right and i could close it right away as you rely on external stuff.
    sorry not provided.
if you are using lvm it is pretty simple to set up and root that
doesn't rely on that otherwise you have to wait.

    thanks

loop-aes is a very contested module with a strange author,
you can't possibly know this. but if such code stays outside
of mainline such long its quite a bad sign.

thus relying for root on external modules is risky.

    never said that.
ring 0 code is special same way that tainted kernels are not supported.

    kind regards

Does this error still occur with the current kernel from Lenny?

    Cheers,
    Moritz
