hey Chris,
Backports to 2.6.18 need to fix bugs of >= important severity. At
first glance this looks like 'normal'. If you believe a greater
severity is warranted, please file a bug and provide the
justification.
Another option is to make sure this gets into the 2.6.23 tree (if it
isn't already), which would make it a candidate for etch and a half:
