All false. Krita is not yet another simplistic paint programm. It has the potential to replace GIMP for those who are irritated by the archane, unusable and slow GIMP gtk interface and deaf ears of GIMP developers.

Krita already supports CMYK, layers, ... you name it. It has modern interface, well integrated with KDE and it is fast.
It has still a way to go but the base foundation is sound and features can be gradually added.

    See http://www.koffice.org/krita/

Maybe think of it differently: koffice is extra to KDE and some distribution
do not split up like Debian does (which is very nice).
So for krita, you have to install all of koffice on those (which you don't
need e.g. if OpenOffice is installed) but kolourpaint comes with KDE.
