This is a discussion on can not use the xfonts-(100|75)dpi packages - Debian ; Hi! I've installed the xfonts-(100|75)dpi and xfonts-(100|75)dpi-transcoded and xfonts-biznet-(100|75)dpi packages. Thread: can not use the xfonts-(100|75)dpi packages

  1. can not use the xfonts-(100|75)dpi packages

    Hi!

    I've installed the xfonts-(100|75)dpi and xfonts-(100|75)dpi-transcoded and
xfonts-biznet-(100|75)dpi packages. Now I have all the fonts which I need to
use with my locale (iso8859-2). I especially prefer the helvetica font...
But, after the install, I can not use them with kde nor with gnome. I can only
select the helvetica font from GTK1 applications... I can not select the
helvetica font from any kde or GTK2 (ie.: xchat) application. I've run the
fc-cache -fsv as root, and fc-cache -fv as my user, but still can not use,
and can not see that font (neither of the mentioned package's fonts) with
    fc-list.

Can somebody tell me where to look for debug output, or what configuration I
    am missing?

    Thanks!

    Daniel
