ksplash still freezes - Debian

    I still have it. My solution is to log in on another console and run
    'pkill klauncher'. Then I dismiss the splash window and I'm logged in,
    although many of my autostart programs haven't started. (It seems to
    hang on kmail.)

    I filed a bug report with KDE about this:
    http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102046. Just recently the bug was
    marked RESOLVED because they asked me 6 weeks ago to trace the hang with
    gdb, and I still haven't done it. But if you have something to add to
    the report, please do. I've now updated to KE 3.4.1, and ksplash still
    hangs every time I log in.
