Ramdisk app needed
I run etch, 2.6.12 kernel. 2.8ghz AMD 32bit CPU, nvidia chipset
I had to recompile kernel, trying the 'debian way':-)
When I ran:
dpkg -i kernel-image-2.6.14.3_custom.1.0_i386.deb
I got the following:
8><_-------------------------------
You are attempting to install an initrd kernel image (version
2.6.14.3) while running a kernel of version 2.6.12-1-k7, but
you have no suitable ramdisk generation tool installed among
/usr/sbin/mkinitrd /usr/sbin/mkinitrd.yaird /usr/sbin/mkinitramfs.
This will break the installation, unless a
suitable ramdisk generation tool is also being installed right
now.
Could not find . at /var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst line 228.

If what I need is a "suitable ramdisk generation tool" then would would be
good?
I tried doing a package that had ramdisk in it's description, but that
wanted to remove discover. So now I'm here hoping for a reply as to what
to do or what I am doing wrong.

TY. It ends up the problem is even bigger. :-(
But I'll keep it in mind.
