  1. X bug in 4.1

There seems to be a new X windows bug in AMD 64-bit 4.1 release.
The bug is that while running a browser, the mouse cursor suddenly
seems to disappear and can only be brought back by switching to a
console and then switching back to the Windows session. This problem
occurs with both KDE and XWindows running Konq, Mozilla, and Firefox.

The mouse cursor doesn't actually disappear. It moves over to the right
margin of the screen and becomes a very small right-pointing arrow which
moves only up and down along the screen edge as the mouse is moved in
any direction. Also, the xwindows panel changes spontaneously. This can
be seen in the panel selector at the bottom of the screen.

This bug came out of nowhere and now is occurring on my system often within
minutes of my starting a kde or xwindows session. It makes the graphics
system unusable when it starts happening. I never saw this bug in 4.0.
It's really bad in 4.1 now.

    I applied 004.patch to XF4, rebuilt and reinstalled X.
The bug still showed up immediately when I used Konqueror
    to visit google.

Further testing shows that the mouse pointer goes to the right edge
of the screen as soon as, or very shortly after, X initializes the screen.
The bug now occurs even before a web browser is invoked.

Further testing showed that the bug (ok, it's an exploit) persists after
doing an update from the 4.1 release cdroms. It's now happening even before
X gets completely initialized. The bug does not appear if I unplug the
internet connection. Of course, I can't get to google then so this is not
    a fix :-).

Further testing showed that the bug appears even with firefox being run on X by
a new user with no significant files. So at this point I conclude that some
script kiddee has figured out a new way to crack X windows on OpenBSD. Looks
like X goes back to non-use until I have 4.2 running.

Looks like I was rooted while I was running 4.0...
