  1. Anti-spam solutions using pop3

    Hi guys (and girls),

I am looking for a POP3 solution to remove spam from my mailbox.
SPAM should be forwarded to another mailbox.
The solution should run from Openbsd 3.8 i386.

I can only use spamd when the mail is send to me (if I understand
    correctly).

Does someone have a solution, or should I try to write something in Perl
    myself?

Thank you for your thoughts and help...

You can fake sending mail to yourself by using fetchmail.

And then set up something involving amavisd, spamassassin, clamav and
any number of other things you care to name.

WARNING: the decompressing engines tend to be rather insecure. Don't
provide support for fancy formats - ancient stuff like zoo, lha, ...

    I found the problem

The /var/www/tmp directory is not writable by default!
Just make sure that you have the necessary rights to write a file

Erm... did you reply to the wrong thread? I do not see how a POP3
mailbox and /var/www/tmp are related, unless you set up some strange
form of webmail... which is very possible, but would likely require
setting up your own IMAP server.
