    What does the 7.0-RELEASE-i386-livefs.iso file contain? Who needs
    this iso? Is it necessary in order to install FreeBSD?

    No it is not necessary. As it name indicates it is a live cdrom, like
    Knoppix, but less convenient. There are more convenient live cdroms for
    FreeBSD such as Frenzy http://frenzy.org.ua/en/, unfortunately only for
    6.x. If you absolutely need a live cdrom for FreeBSD-7, then you have
    it above. This is useful for doing repair work, non standard
    installations, etc.
