Hi all,

gam_server eats up many of my file descriptors and simply ignores its
configuration. According to

http://www.gnome.org/~veillard/gamin/

my config looks like

notify /mnt/* /media/*
poll /tmp/*
fsset nfs poll 10

The config is in my home and symlinked into [/usr/local]/etc/gamin/gaminrc.

# uname -rs
FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p9
# pkg_info -EX gamin
gamin-0.1.9

# pgrep -l gam
96143 gam_server

# fstat -p 96143 | wc -l
2067
# fstat -p 96143 | grep usr | wc -l
2010

Why does it look at /usr and /home when the default is to monitor /mnt
and /media ?!?!

How can i limit gamin with FreeBSD tools? gam_server is executed as the user
who logs in...

Is the replacement devel/fam a better choise?

Best regards,

Stefan
