Thread: kernel 64

  1. kernel 64

    Hi,

    I try to pass to kernel 64-bit an AIX 5.2 with SAN disks (P55)
    I recreate the links:
    ls -l /unix -> /usr/lib/boot/unix_64
    ls -l /usr/lib/boot/unix -> /usr/lib/boot/unix_64
    when I reboot
    bootinfo -K is always 32

    Have I to do a bosboot ?

    WHen I try to do it, I get:
    bosboot -ad /dev/hdisk3
    0301-168 bosboot: The current boot logical volume, /dev/hd5, doesn't exist
    on /dev/hdisk3
    bosboot -ad /dev/hdiskpower0
    0301-154 bosboot: missing proto file:
    /usr/lib/boot/network/chrp.hdiskpower.proto

    Can you help me ?

    Are you sure the BLV is on hdisk3 ?

    check with lslv -l hd5

    IIRC bosboot doesn't recognise Power Devices

    man pprootdev - the utility provided by EMC to switch your rootvg from hdisk
    to hdiskpower and back again.

    Cheers,

    Nick.
