  1. inetd subservers

    Hi all
    I have a following problem:
I have here 6 LPARs of two p5 570 machines with AIX 5.3 TL4 CSP.
One of those LPARs was installed from CDs, all others were cloned
using alt_disk_install command. After the cloning all the LPARs are
not able to start any of subservers of inetd (ftp, rlogin, telnet
    etc).
I tried to debug the issue and found the following information:
When I just run /etc/ftpd I getting in the syslog:
    Jul 13 12:21:14 kztdb1 user:err|error syslog: getpeername (/etc/ftpd):
The specified file descriptor is not a socket.
When I try to run startsrc -t ftp I'm getting this error:
    chsubserver: error in updating inet
And the following lines in the syslog:
    Jul 13 13:42:52 kztdb1 daemon:debug inetd[94346]: Child process 270408
    has ended.
    Jul 13 13:42:52 kztdb1 daemon:debug inetd[94346]: Child process 270408
    has ended.
    Jul 13 13:42:52 kztdb1 daemon:err|error inetd[94346]: inet: A file or
directory in the path name does not exist.
    Jul 13 13:42:52 kztdb1 daemon:err|error inetd[94346]: inet: A file or
directory in the path name does not exist.

    Any ideas, anybody?
    Thanks in advance.

Ummm... Yeah... The things inetd starts all expect to get the network
socket as their stdin/stdout/stderr. If you just run them from the
command line, they'll try to do socket things to your pseudo-terminal...
