TZ=CST6CDT or TZ=CST5CDT aix4.3.3 - Aix

This is a discussion on TZ=CST6CDT or TZ=CST5CDT aix4.3.3 - Aix ; All, im a bit comfused on what to use on the TIME ZONE variable, IBM says use "TZ=CST6CDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0" and others say use "TZ=CST5CDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0" what is the right one? what is the difference between 5 and 6 in CST*CDT..im at EST ...

    All,

    im a bit comfused on what to use on the TIME ZONE variable, IBM
    says use "TZ=CST6CDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0" and others say use
    "TZ=CST5CDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0" what is the right one? what is the
    difference between 5 and 6 in CST*CDT..im at EST zone so mine would be
    TZ=CST?CDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0???

    The simple answer is to take your current TZ setting and append
    ",M3.2.0,M11.1.0"
