Default New version of cfg2html available

Hi folks,

after a long time, a new version of cfg2html is out.
You can find the latest version on SourceForce.net.

http://cfg2html.sourceforge.net

This is the AIX version. If you need the HP or LINUX version, you will
find them on the yahoo grops page.

That looks really sweet... Though the 'what is' page is currently
broken so can't really get more info. Don't really want to be running
this without a little more info / knowing what to expect. People love
screenshots - so how about a sample output? (I know screenshot-love
is generally for the weak minded, but people like to know what they're
getting for their time investment)

We're currently using spreadsheets to manually record essential build
and config information for our servers, so this could be quite a
boon. If you get the docs up I'll probably be able to give it a whirl
and will send back any bugs \ feedback as appropriate.

Best regards,

Alex

I've been critical of this tool before, and will continue to be so.
So, I'll have a look again
I think you have to decide what you're doing with the output too.
I learn t about version control a few years ago, and have used CVS and
Subversion ever since.
The output from cfg2html is good, but, can it provide history of
itself, the answer is no. So, put the output into a version control
system.
So, that's nice, but version control IMO only works well with small
files. any more than 50 lines or so becomes cumbersome and annoying to
read, and, useless.
So, if cfg2html is creating small output files, "yay".

The other utility I want to spend some time looking at is IBM's very
own aixpert (TL 5.3.7), and the output from snap. After all, these are
what IBM use.

If you would like to see some modifications or enhancements
why not sending me a mail with your wishlist ?
You may also feel free to enter your bugs and wishes on the
sourceforge web site.

"Smaller output files" is under developemt for the next major release.
But this seems to be a lot of work.
