Hi there,

Have installed HACMP 5.4 on AIX 5.3 ML 06 with HACMP/XD GLVM 5.4 as well.

I have a pretty basic setup - 2 nodes (tiger, leopard) with two network
interfaces each.

I have one Geo-mirrored VG mirrored from tiger to leopard across one of
the networks, the other is for user traffic.

My /etc/hosts file looks like this on both nodes:
--
127.0.0.1 loopback localhost # loopback (lo0) name/address

192.168.10.153 tiger tiger.ait.local
192.168.10.160 leopard leopard.ait.local

192.168.52.5 tiger_xd1 tiger_xd1.ait.local
192.168.52.15 leopard_xd1 leopard_xd1.ait.local
--

When I try to do any sort of cluster verification, any operation that
needs to contact both nodes, I get the following message:

--
ERROR: Unable to use communication interface 'tiger'.

ERROR: Unable to use communication interface 'leopard'.

For each of the above invalid communication interfaces listed,
please check that the owning node is running the clcomdES subsystem,
and that the /usr/es/sbin/cluster/etc/rhosts file is properly configured.
Also, check /var/hacmp/clcomd/clcomd.log logfile on remote node for
possible errors.
--

Even the basic smitty hacmp -> "Initialization and Standard
Configuration" -> "Configure an HACMP Cluster and Nodes" gives the error.

My /usr/es/sbin/cluster/etc/rhosts file is, on both nodes:
--
192.168.10.153
192.168.10.160
192.168.52.5
192.168.52.15
--

I have stopped and restarted the clcomdES subsystem a number of times,
and have rebooted both nodes since installing HA.

I have search the 'net for similar problems, all seem to be with
/usr/es/sbin/cluster/etc/rhosts but mine is ok judging from other posts
and information out there.

I have tried to set this up on two separate clusters, get the same
problem on each. HA manuals, (as usual) provide little or no info.
clcomd.log doesn't have much info either:

Sometimes I get this:
--
Wed Nov 28 05:32:30 2007: Trying to establish connection to node
temporarynode0000002020023310
Wed Nov 28 05:32:30 2007: CONNECTION: ACCEPTED: tiger:

--

Sometimes I get this:
--
Wed Nov 28 05:33:56 2007: Trying to establish connection to node

Wed Nov 28 05:33:56 2007: Connection to node

Wed Nov 28 05:34:26 2007: Connection to node
temporarynode0000001439363040: closed
--

But both produce the same error as listed above.
Any suggestions/help appreciated.
