What about the crontab ?? It isn't enough ?

Do you have special needs that the crontab can't fill ?

    Hello Benoit

Dependant on your focus (distribute load, control distinct jobs on a
bunch of machines, control job chains,...)
there are different solutions. One the $$$ side there is as example
    Tivoli Maestro or CONTROL-M.
If you want a quick overview over different systems you might have a
    look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_scheduler

    Bye, Stefan ... . . . .

cron isn't good for complex tasks where there's prerequisites in completing
    a larger task.

I've been looking for someting that can queue jobs under unix as well, not
just kick off a task at time X.

CA-Autosys is an alternative; but $$$$

Server runs on Unix (including AIX), Windows and uses a Sybase (bundled) or
    Oracle (not bundled) database.

Can schedule jobs on Unix (including AIX), Windows, AS/400 and OS/390
    mainframe clients.
