If you would like to work on the Flash problem, here are a few ideas.
One is thing older versions do not get removed when you update. If you
type about
lugins in a tab or window, you will see list of your
plugins. Some are supposed to have several entries, but you should only
see one for “Shockwave Flash”.
If you see more than one entry, exit using File/exit.
-go to your Program Files/Mozilla/Firefox and the Plugin Folder (this
Windows, may be different if using something else)
-in that Plugin Folder you will see NPSWF32.dll
-just delete that
-Start up Firefox again and go to about
lugins again, and check that
only one “Shockwave Flash”
-Do a check that it is working okay,

If still problems, sometimes this thing just needs a complete removal
and fresh install. Uninstalling Flash now needs using the Adobe
uninstaller to be done right, it is here,

After that you can just make double sure that no NPSWF32.dll in your
Program Files Firefox Plugins folder, and then dl the latest
Flash Player again and install.
What I can say is that personally I had a lot of trouble with Flash and
I did these steps myself and all wonderful again. Personally, I also
find that the add on Flashblock is also great just to keep a tamper on
Flash.

It is not a great idea though because Mozilla will not be providing
security updates after December 2008 this year. Also, it will also just
keep prompting you to update to Firefox 3!
